The Package Arrived!!!!!!!!!!

I am one lucky Ravenclaw girl! Clidonia's owl arrived to my dormitory today, and with her owl came an AMAZING package! Check out everything that she sent me!

Here's the package it originally came in. I did all I could to stop myself from opening the package right away--I was so excited! But I somehow managed to snap this shot.

The first thing I saw was this beautiful silver and blue tote bag that Clidonia sewed herself! I love it! It's huge, perfect to hold all of my knitting and craft stuff inside. And it has stars on it, which I love! They make it look very magical, like a bag a Hogwarts student would really have.

Next up is yarn. I was so lucky--Clidonia gave me TWO beautiful skeins of yarn! The one you see above is Plymouth Yarn's Rockin' Sox yarn. You can't see well in the picture, but the colors are light blues and silvers--again, Ravenclaw colors! I can't wait to make socks out of this--they'll be a nice addition to my Ravenclaw attire for the new movie coming out soon!

And here's the second skein of yarn. Clidonia bought this from, and it's 440 yards of hand-dyed, yarny goodness! The colors are very summer-y: golds, whites, light violets and purples. They remind me of August, the lazy last few days of summer, the heat wave that just came through here. I think I'll make socks out of this to remember summer 2008 by.

Okay, what next? Hmmm, I think I'll go to the M&M stuff. You might be wondering why Clidonia sent me this--well, I have a collection of M&M merchandise! I have a lamp, a few cookie jars, little figurines, etc. So I laughed when I saw the swirly notepad, journal and cards--I thought it was so generous of her to hunt down M&M-specific items and add them to my swap package. I'm so happy that I have more things to add to my collection! They all will come in handy with school starting soon.
You'll have to turn your head sideways to see this--sorry! These are the sock patterns I was sent. They are the Peak Experience Socks from Fiber Trends, Mona Sock Pattern by Cookie A, and the Twisted Flower sock pattern. They are all very intricate and delicate-looking designs, and I have no idea what pattern I'll try first!

Here are some pretty awesome knitting tools! On the left is a funky green tape measure (with ladybugs on it! Awww...) that is definitely going to aid me in all the hat knitting I'm doing. And on the right is the coolest thing ever--it's a keychain stitch marker/ crochet hook, the perfect size for a knitter to carry around on-the-go. Seriously, it's soooo cool! It's from, in case anyone wants to know.

And I saved the best for last. This tote is handmade from Greenlotus' Etsy shop! I absolutely adore it--it's the perfect size to carry a sock project in, or even a hat project! There's a card inside of it with a hand drawn picture of it and says the tote is called "Cherry Covered Chocolate"--yum! I've already stored some of my knitting inside of it.

And here's everything all together! I had to stand on a chair to fit it all in! THANK YOU SO MUCH CLIDONIA! I love it all so much and am so thankful for the dedication and generosity you put into this kit :)

Hi there everyone!!!! Again, I am terribly sorry for not being seen for so long---It's not that I don't want to be around more, I've just been so busy!!! I'll talk more later...

Saturday, July 5, 2008

Sorry, I haven't written in such a long time!!!! I'm still awaiting the arrival of my package---I'm so excited about it!!!!  Classes are keeping me busy; we've just begun to study domestic plants in Herbology.... In other classes, it's been the same amount of work, but I've been finding myself spending more time outside; just knitting or reading, than actually studying....The garden looks wonderful this time of year, it's blooming with a fresh array of beautiful flowers.

Quidditch Excitement

Wow, what a week! I headed on down to the Quidditch pitch on Sunday to see an exciting game--congrats Hufflepuff! Then we all got a treat when we heard that another game was scheduled for Wednesday, and Griffindor won that round! Don't worry, fellow Claws, next Quidditch game will be OUR victory!

Besides Quidditch, our Hogwarts classes have been going on as usual. Perhaps I'm spending too much time knitting rather than studying, for my grades are slipping a bit. I'm also exhausted from Astronomy first years were up till dawn last night charting the locations of the planets in our solar system. Exams are coming up fairly soon, after our next and final Quidditch game of the term, so I better start studying! I have to put down my knitting and crack open the books.

Well, I'm going to go have a little nap, and after that start studying. Or knitting--whichever comes first!

Ravenclaw Homework #4: OotP Movie Quotes

Oooh, this was so much fun! I can't believe it's been almost a year already since the movie came out. I've only seen the movie two times--how dare I call myself a true Harry Potter fan?!?! Haha, just kidding. For this week's homework, we were instructed to write down who said each quote in the 5th movie.

1. It's changing out there. Just like last time. There's a storm coming, Harry. And we all best be ready when she comes.

2. Dumbledore's Army was about doing something real. Or was that all just words to you?

Pretty sure it's Neville.

3. Dementors in Little Winging? Whatever next? The whole world's going topsy-turvy.

Mrs. Figg

4. The mind is not a book, to be opened at will and examined at leisure. Thoughts are not etched on the inside of skulls, to be perused by an invader. The mind is a complex and many-layered thing.

5. Face it, Petunia. Our boy has gone lumpy.

Uncle Vernon

6. You're a fool, Harry Potter, and you will lose everything.

7. Practicing is good, but there's something else that's even more important: believing in yourself. Look at it this way: every wizard in history has started out as nothing more than we are now -- students. If they can do it, why not us?

8. I WILL have order!

9. When are you going to get it into your head? We're in this together.

10. When all this is over we'll be a proper family, you'll see.

I don't remember this one at all...Sirius, I think.

11. That's right. Anyway, my mum always said things we lose have a way of coming back to us in the end. If not always in the way we expect.

12. You may not like him, Minister, but you can't deny: Dumbledore's got style.

Kingsley Shacklebolt

13. Who wants to watch me take off Snivelly's trousers?

James Potter (jerk...)

14. One person can't feel all that, they'd explode!

15. They're very clean, these Muggles. It's unnatural.

16. How dare you speak his name! YOU FILTHY HALF BLOOD!

17. Just because you can use magic now does not mean you have to whip your wands out for everything.

Mrs. Weasley

18. Did you actually believe, or are you truly naive enough to think that children stood a chance against us? I'll make this simple, Potter. Give me the prophecy now, or watch your friends die.

Lucius Malfoy

19. You sort of start thinking anything's possible if you've got enough nerve.

This one was hard too. I think it's Ginny, though.

20. Ah, I thought we might hit this little snag. You seem to be laboring under the delusion that I am going to -- what is the phrase? -- come quietly.
