Quidditch Excitement

Wow, what a week! I headed on down to the Quidditch pitch on Sunday to see an exciting game--congrats Hufflepuff! Then we all got a treat when we heard that another game was scheduled for Wednesday, and Griffindor won that round! Don't worry, fellow Claws, next Quidditch game will be OUR victory!

Besides Quidditch, our Hogwarts classes have been going on as usual. Perhaps I'm spending too much time knitting rather than studying, for my grades are slipping a bit. I'm also exhausted from Astronomy class...us first years were up till dawn last night charting the locations of the planets in our solar system. Exams are coming up fairly soon, after our next and final Quidditch game of the term, so I better start studying! I have to put down my knitting and crack open the books.

Well, I'm going to go have a little nap, and after that start studying. Or knitting--whichever comes first!

Quidditch Answers Round 2

Well, it's been a really busy week for me here at Hogwarts! Besides the usual studying and excitement for Quidditch, my spoilee, Cassandra, recieved her package from me! Yay! She posted pictures of it and everything on her blog. Another exciting thing that happened this week is the fact that I was chosen for a HSKS5 Random Act of Kindnesss. Cassandra owled me to tell me she had preordered a Muggle book for me that I've been looking forward to, Breaking Dawn! I already sent out my Random Act of Kindness to someone. Who will it be? You'll have to wait and see...

Now, onto Quidditch!

Ravenclaw Homework #4: OotP Movie Quotes

Oooh, this was so much fun! I can't believe it's been almost a year already since the movie came out. I've only seen the movie two times--how dare I call myself a true Harry Potter fan?!?! Haha, just kidding. For this week's homework, we were instructed to write down who said each quote in the 5th movie.
___________

1. It's changing out there. Just like last time. There's a storm coming, Harry. And we all best be ready when she comes.

Hagrid

2. Dumbledore's Army was about doing something real. Or was that all just words to you?

Pretty sure it's Neville.

3. Dementors in Little Winging? Whatever next? The whole world's going topsy-turvy.

Mrs. Figg

4. The mind is not a book, to be opened at will and examined at leisure. Thoughts are not etched on the inside of skulls, to be perused by an invader. The mind is a complex and many-layered thing.

Snape

5. Face it, Petunia. Our boy has gone lumpy.

Uncle Vernon

6. You're a fool, Harry Potter, and you will lose everything.

Voldemort

7. Practicing is good, but there's something else that's even more important: believing in yourself. Look at it this way: every wizard in history has started out as nothing more than we are now -- students. If they can do it, why not us?

Harry

8. I WILL have order!

Umbridge

9. When are you going to get it into your head? We're in this together.

Hermione

10. When all this is over we'll be a proper family, you'll see.

I don't remember this one at all...Sirius, I think.

11. That's right. Anyway, my mum always said things we lose have a way of coming back to us in the end. If not always in the way we expect.

Luna

12. You may not like him, Minister, but you can't deny: Dumbledore's got style.

Kingsley Shacklebolt

13. Who wants to watch me take off Snivelly's trousers?

James Potter (jerk...)

14. One person can't feel all that, they'd explode!

Ron

15. They're very clean, these Muggles. It's unnatural.

Tonks

16. How dare you speak his name! YOU FILTHY HALF BLOOD!

Bellatrix

17. Just because you can use magic now does not mean you have to whip your wands out for everything.

Mrs. Weasley

18. Did you actually believe, or are you truly naive enough to think that children stood a chance against us? I'll make this simple, Potter. Give me the prophecy now, or watch your friends die.

Lucius Malfoy

19. You sort of start thinking anything's possible if you've got enough nerve.

This one was hard too. I think it's Ginny, though.

20. Ah, I thought we might hit this little snag. You seem to be laboring under the delusion that I am going to -- what is the phrase? -- come quietly.

Special Surprise and Hogsmeade!

I can't believe I haven't posted this before, but my Muggle camera was acting up. Digital cameras are evil, trust me. I wanted to wait until I could get pictures up before I played show-and-tell. Anyway, two weeks ago from Wednesday I received a special package in the mail from Clidonia--turns out she sent me a tiny, cute sock blocker key chain!

See?

It came with a pattern to make these tiny little socks as well, and it looks like a great way to use up my stash yarn. Thank you so much Clidonia! Sorry it took so long to post.

What else? Oh, yes, Hogsmeade was last weekend. You wouldn't imagine how much fun it was! I got all my homework done Friday night and woke up bright and early Saturday morning so I could be the first one in line for the trip! I overheard some other students chatting about secret ways to get into Hogsmeade, like underground tunnels and such, but I didn't feel like being daring and walked to Hogsmeade the normal way with all of the other students. Maybe next time I'll try the passageways ;)

When I got there I went straight to the candy shop, where I ended up purchasing a whole sack of sweets! I can't help it--Mum would never let me eat wizarding candy. I wanted to try some! I also sent Mum and my sister a letter from one of the owls at the Post Shop (giving my own owl a day off) and a new set of ink and quills at the shop down the street. Then, after popping my head in all the other shops, I met up with a few other students and sipped Butterbeer at The Three Broomsticks.

All in all, it was a wonderful visit. I only wish someone would open up a knitting shop in Hogsmeade--I miss the knitting shop back at home! But, perhaps it is a good thing. If a knitting shop did open up in Hogsmeade, I would probably spend the whole day inside it and miss out on all the other fun!

Check Up

It's been SO BUSY here at Hogwarts, with Quidditch, classes, everything! Quidditch was yesterday, and though I couldn't make it for the actual match, I did hear that it was a very exciting game. Hufflepuff won--congrats to them! Slytherin followed, and Ravenclaw came in third. Although we didn't win, I still think we still played really well. Maybe next time!

I've also been studying like mad. Cassandra was right...Professor Lufkin has grown on me. I'm not as scared of him as much as I was before, but still not infatuated with him. Professor Black, however...;)

And I can't forget my knitting! I've been working at it every night, sometimes knitting by myself, sometimes with the Ravenclaws. I even snuck into the Slytherin common room one night and joined their knitting group! Shhhhhh...don't tell my prefect! I was supposed to be in bed.

I also won Griffindor student Emma Gorodok's contest and got a copy of her awesome bag pattern! Now I have so many things on my list to knit...and so little time!
